After filling out my visitor and residence map. I realized how i use digital platforms for different purposes, such as personal life, academic and professional networks. Like for personal use, I will mostly use Instagram, Facebook, Discord, YouTube, and iMessages to stay connected and to get day-to-day updates/news from the internet or for entertainment purposes. Whereas for academics, I will be using Brightspace, Teams and Pulse to get my notes, submit assignments, or check any due dates. Lastly, for professional networks, I mostly use LinkedIn.

One thing that I noticed is that I have been using LinkedIn for a long time, but I think I should be more active on it. By posting new posts often and updating my skills. As I will be graduating soon and applying for professional jobs, having a stronger professional network would really help me achieve my goals, and that is something I really want to work on. I think LinkedIn can be really helpful for me in order to get connected with people doing research. So, if I ever think of pursuing higher studies such as an MSc or PhD, I could connect with professors for their guidance and learn more about the areas that interest me.

If any employer searches my social media, I don’t think they’ll find much on my personal accounts, since most are private and have almost zero posts. I mostly use my personal accounts to stay connected with a few close family members and friends and to keep myself updated about what’s happening on the internet. For these reasons, I don’t think any employer would be able to judge me through my social media.
